The President and Owner of Green Wedding DJ, Pol has been a live performing DJ for years. Starting as a kid he was often asked by his parents to DJ their ballroom dance parties. This started his love for getting people out on the dance floor. His love of music has earned him the right to be called “Musicologist” and got him on the path of collecting tens of thousands of songs (from old records to CD’s to mp3’s - even a few 8-tracks.)

Over the years, he has performed at hundreds of wedding receptions, hundreds of corporate parties as well as reunions, luaus, birthdays, pool parties and much more. “One of my favorite events is a wedding reception,” Pol says “They are once-in-a-lifetime events and I love to see people so happy. It’s sometimes challenging to do right, but it’s worth it when so many people come up to me after an event and tell me they just didn’t realize how much a DJ does to make an event successful.”

Although Pol has always been a mobile DJ, he also has been a club DJ, and a radio DJ (and at one time even was the manager of KSJS training hundreds of other DJ’s). He has DJ’ed around the world, but is based in San Jose where he makes his home. He is married and has one daughter (who has, on occasion, been found helping her dad.) He has a dog (boxer) and an adopted cat, with all of them living in a Victorian home that he and his wife are slowly remodeling.

Other than being a full time DJ, Pol is part owner of a brewery (Hoppy Brewing) in Sacramento. He loves comic books (especially Plasticman), science fiction movies, books in general, chocolate, fine wine and fine dining. Often he can be found in various venues in the Bay Area listening to the latest bands. Pol, working his way through a degree at San Jose State University, has also been a cook, a soccer coach, an art teacher, a waiter, a videographer, a marketing consultant, but not a taxi driver, yet.

Born and raised in California, as a first generation American (with Dutch and Indonesian heritage) he is fascinated with the multitude of cultures in our state. He has traveled around the world (mostly looking to collect new music) and loves finding new places to see.

Pol has always been fascinated with eco-friendly and green energy resources. As a teacher, he demonstrated and taught kids how to build solar ovens out of pizza boxes. As you recognize him when he drives up to your wedding in his modified VW bus, you'll instantly realize this is the guy that really cares about how things happen.

In addition to owning and operating the Bay Area's first Eco-Friendly, Carbon Neutral DJ company, Green Wedding DJ, Pol also owns Silicon Valley DJ. In fact, some of the contact links and availability checkers all go through the Silicon Valley site, so that, as Pol keeps unnecessary duplicate costs down, you get to save!
